manage to get it out of the drive way with 4wheeler and drove it, has no 2nd gear or it is really slow to shift, i believe it tires to go to 2nd fails then go to 3rd, when going down the road i shifted from D to 3rd and rpm changed so it seems that there is a 4th gear(for now).
sun shell?

I got mine built with stronger borg warner parts and the clutch pack from a silverado as i recall. I had the local aamco do and i told em to just beef it up as much as possible. Cost me a pretty penny too, $2k installed. Save for a failing torque converter its been a great investment.

Christ, what did you do to that tranny karcinigin? No reason it should die at 120K miles. Most make it around 170, mine was driven like a grandma with the old tranny (i bought it with the tranny fucked), and got 190k before one day she just completely shelled out. No prior warning, he was just stopped at a light and tried to accelerate and it basically just went right then. 5mph, then she let go and woulnd't move. It would move for about 20 seconds if you let it cool completely. They had it parked in their ditch when i bought it (they ment to put it there) and i literally got in it, started it, threw it in drive, and stood on the gas because they said ya had no time. Barely made it outta that ditch![]()
i was trying to park on the side of our driveway(trying to stay to of the way), it was slight covered in snow, had parked there before, turned into it some then went to back up then lost reverse. I got it with 100k on it (almost exactly) so just fell to the shitty sun shell thing I believe. Still debating if getting a tranny is worth it. A new(er) truck would be nice but i dont really want to have a car payment, and I have money for a tranny. have some rebuild 4l60e on ebay $900 3yr 100k warranty looking really good

Mine went out with less miles than that as i remember. Stuff happens unfortunately. Mine was originally a rental vehicle so its very likely that before i got it, it was abused badly.
As for when mine went, i was turning around on a side street and had to back up to complete the turn. Put it in reverse and it reved up on its own to about 1500rpm and then a clunk came from underneath. After that, no reverse.

but found neesd ball joints and a FR wheel bearing
will have to look more at this but he said it is also leaking oil, might be true
and he also said it is leaking coolant, I filled the reserve last summer after replacing intake gasket, have not need to fill it at all, he might just be covering is tracks
but with the bearing what one do I need I was looking on rockauto and there are many

Wow 2k. It's real nice to work at a chevy dealer. Im having mine rebuilt in a month or so. I told him to make it as strong as possible. It gonna cost me 800 installed.
I must have bad luck with the 4l60e's. My 99 blazer has 115 on it and the tranny is about done. Started slipping around 105k. My 94 has 104k and it starting to slip pretty good. My buddy has a 03 trailblazer with 180k and his is fine.
99 2dr blazer, 6in superlift, 2in body lift, 33x15.5 BFG M/T KM2s.
Yeah i bought my truck with the tranny out. He said it drove absolutely perfectly, for 10k miles he owned it, then one day he was pulling an unloaded trailer and all of a sudden the tach pegged and that was it. You could shut it off, let it sit for ~12 hours, and it would go for 20 feet and that was all. I drove it out of the ditch he parked it in next to the road to sell, hooked it up to the Silvy, and drove it home standing on the non-power brakes the whole way (dead battery)
About half of that was labor. Took them 2 days start to finish to get it done and they had one guy assigned to my blazer for the entire task and thats all he did was replace my trans for those 2 days. Funny enough, my blazer was only 1 of 2 vehicles they had in at the time and both had nearly the exact same problem happen on the same year blazers. Even had the shop guys show us both transmissions side by side. Only difference between the failures is the other had part of the guts of his trans blow a hole in the side when it failed.

$1000, guy did all the work
shifts mush faster and smoother, but has a odd power range when spinning up (slowly in one gear) it is not smooth acceleration
time for a vet servo mod
